HK Sevens is a production Web3 sports fan-engagement platform launched for the 2022 Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens . It enabled fans to collect and trade team-card and mascot NFTs, participate in stadium QR experiences, and bid for digital collectibles linked to match-used jerseys and a game ball ( public launch ). Built with Angular, Node.js, Solidity, and Microsoft Azure, the platform combined credit-card onboarding with blockchain ownership, auctions, trading, and physical-item redemption. Its engineering addressed research-relevant problems including concurrent ownership consistency, transaction recovery, EIP-1559 fee management, and hiding blockchain complexity from mainstream users.
